Privacy policy
Private by design.
Your Heriter archive remains on your device. Information you choose to share through the website is handled separately.

Your private archive
Heriter stores the collection information you choose to add, including watches, ownership details, notes, costs, wear history, Moments, and photographs. This information is stored locally on your device.
Heriter does not require an account. V1 does not send your archive to Heriter-operated servers and does not include advertising, analytics, or cross-app tracking. Heriter does not sell your data.
Photos and camera
When you choose a photograph, Apple’s system photo picker gives Heriter access only to the item you selected. Heriter may read that photograph’s date and embedded location to suggest archive details. Apple’s geocoding service may be used to turn embedded coordinates into a readable place name. Heriter requests camera access only when you choose to take a photograph.
Backups and transfers
You can export your archive as a Heriter backup file and save it in a location you choose, such as iCloud Drive. Heriter does not keep a copy. Exported files remain wherever you save or share them and are governed by the privacy practices of that storage provider.
Importing a backup replaces the library currently stored in the app. Heriter validates the selected file and creates a temporary on-device safety snapshot to support recovery if the import fails.
Deleting app data
You can delete watches, photographs, Moments, costs, and wear records within the app. Deleting Heriter from your iPhone removes its on-device archive. Backup files you previously exported are separate and must be deleted from the location where you saved them.
Changes to this policy
This policy may be updated when Heriter’s features or data practices change. The date above will reflect the latest revision.

Website applications and email
If you apply for possible pre-release TestFlight access, Heriter collects the information you choose to provide: your email address, first name, approximate collection size, a short explanation of why you would like to test Heriter, and confirmation that you use an iPhone and are willing to test a pre-release app.
Heriter uses Loops, a service provided by Astrodon Corporation, to receive and store this information and to send email on Heriter’s behalf. Loops processes this information as Heriter’s service provider. You can read the Loops Privacy Policy.
Application information is used to review interest, select and coordinate pilot participants, provide TestFlight instructions, request feedback, and communicate about the first public release. Continuing release updates are optional and require a separate choice. Website application information is not connected to your private Heriter archive or activity in the app.
To help prevent accidental repeat submissions, the application page stores a one-way representation of the submitted email address in that browser. It remains on the device and is not used to track browsing activity.
Your application and email choices
Heriter uses double opt-in, so you must confirm your email before your application is treated as subscribed. Ongoing emails include a link for managing your email preferences or unsubscribing. Unsubscribing stops future email covered by that preference but does not automatically erase the application information already provided.
Heriter retains application information only as long as reasonably necessary to review applications, operate the pilot, and complete related release follow-up. A limited contact and preference record may be retained to honor an unsubscribe request. You may ask to access, correct, or delete your website application information at any time by emailing support@heriter.app.
